Indian Ocean – Part 2
31st March 2014
As I said after lunch, we go back to the
cabin for a relax on the balcony or to do our blog or we walk around the decks
looking at the other passengers cooking themselves in the sun around the
various pools.
On this cruise so far we have not been to
the Art Class or the Craft Class. The
craft class is run by someone on board and doesn’t seem quite so good as
normal. Now the art class didn’t catch
our attention at the beginning, but we may consider it again after South
Africa, as we will be having quite a few sea days then, but we are finding
plenty to do and we certainly don’t get bored.
Yesterday we spent quite a time on the
Promenade Deck as they had a Macmillan Charity Event, where people walked (or
ran) for 44 laps of the Promenade Deck (half a marathon). We decided to give that one a miss, but we
did sponsor the runners.
All too soon it is dinner time again and
tonight Doreen decided to wear the dress she had made in Shanghai.
As usual hygiene is paramount on the ship
so we have to use alcohol gel before we enter the restaurants and so far we
have been free from any on board virus.
Tonight was a formal night and we sit on a
table of friends that we had met on our previous cruise around South America.
After dinner we usually go to the theatre,
where tonight they had a performance by Annette
Wardell, a soprano singer very popular with the Royal Family and last night
we had Julian Smith (who is a
soprano saxophone player who came the runner up in Britain Got Talent) , after
which we go to Carmens, a nightclub venue, where we can watch other cabaret
acts Including singers, comedians, magicians and the Headliners Theatre
Company, putting on shows such as a Queen tribute act, Demonstration Dance. Alternatively if we prefer a quiet evening we
go to the Crows Nest , where they have an evening of song and music performed
by the on board artists. So you can see
we have plenty of choice of high quality entertainment in the evening.
