Indian Ocean – Part 1
31st March 2014
Today we are in the middle of the Indian
Ocean approaching the coast of South Africa. Our next port of call is Port Elizabeth.
I have had a complaint about our blog, not
including photographs of the ship, so I thought I would do a blog about what is
on board.
Our itinerary has been pretty hectic for
the first part of this cruise so we spend most of the time recovering from our
excursions taken the day before. So at
present our typical day at sea begins with breakfast. We usually dine at the Medina Restaurant,
which is silver service. After which I
have to go and visit the shops, just to see what offers they have on that
particular day. We then do a quick walk
around the Promenade Deck. Geoffrey
usually does one mile (3.1/2 laps), whereas Doreen just does the one lap. I developed a blister on my foot after
Singapore, so I am being extra careful now.
We then go back to the cabin and sit on the balcony for a couple of
hours before going to lunch.
Now lunch – well we have a choice – we can
go to the Orangery, which is the self service restaurant, but we choose not to
as it is a bit of a bun fight up there.
We usual decide between the Café Bordeaux or the Medina Restaurant, both
of which are waiter service. So we just
decide which one we want to do.
After lunch we usually return to the cabin
and either sit on the balcony or we do our blog. Now to do the blog is quite a procedure and
it does take quite a while as we cannot always get the photographs to download. Sometimes it can take twenty minutes to half
an hour or even longer.
Now go to Part 2 for the rest of the day.
